Airat Ichmouratov

The Russian-Canadian musician, Airat Ichmouratov, isd composer and conductor in residence of the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil since 2018. His music has been performed by a wide range of ensembles and musicians in countries around the world. Both in form and style, Airat Ichmouratov’s compositions are influenced by Mahler, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff and Mussorgsky, among others.

Holder of a doctorate in orchestral conducting from the Université de Montréal since 2004, Airat Ichmouratov has been invited on several occasions to conduct the Tatarstan Symphony Orchestra and the Kazan Chamber Music Orchestra, La Primavera, the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal, the Laval and New Brunswick Symphony Orchestras, I Musici de Montréal and the Thirteen Strings Ensemble of Ottawa.

On October 21, 2020, Airat Ichmouratov received the Charles-Biddle 2020 Award, national and international component, which recognizes the exceptional contribution of people who have immigrated to Quebec and whose personal or professional commitment contributes to the cultural and artistic development of Quebec.
