Commitment to organizations helping victims of sexual exploitation
The first edition of the benefit concert for the benefit of organizations helping victims of sexual exploitation took place on June 7, 2019, in Saint-Hubert Church, in front of a full house. This benefit concert organized by the Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL), in collaboration with the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil and the City of Longueuil, raised nearly $30,000, which was donated to three organizations helping victims of sexual exploitation in the agglomeration of Longueuil: Le 2159, Maison Kekpart and Macadam Sud. This benefit concert was made possible thanks to the financial support of SSQ Insurance as a Major Partner, Desjardins as a Partner, as well as many generous donors. The actress Ludivine Reding was the spokesperson. Under the direction of the Orchestra’s conductor and composer in residence, Airat Ichmouratov, this concert showcased the musical and vocal talents of SPAL police officers and representatives of community organizations, who were accompanied for the occasion by the Orchestra’s professional musicians.
