Orchestre Symphonique De Longueuil
A cultural ambassador, the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil is the 4th largest symphony orchestra in Quebec. For 35 years, 52 professional musicians have been providing diverse musical performances and forging unique bonds with the audience. Among other things, the Orchestra’s mission is to provide the population with music of optimal quality, accessible to all audiences. We try, through our actions and artistic performances, to demystify the so-called “classical” music so that our spectators get closer to the “music.” Our mission is to democratize classical music. The Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec recognize and support the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil in its mission to cover the entire territory of the Montérégie.
Appointed in January 2019 as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil, Alexandre Da Costa has, with his vision and dynamism, given new impetus to the Orchestra while positioning it as an essential cultural jewel.
