Stradivarius at school
The primary musical education program, Stradivarius at School, formerly known as Portée pédagogique, which was established 20 years ago in collaboration with the Commission scolaire Marie-Victorin, is now offered to all school boards in the Montérégie region. To date, more than 110,000 students in the Montérégie region have benefited from this initiative. This unique and unifying program consists of several distinct components and complementary activities with the young orchestra players of the future and music departments of the participating schools. This program oriented towards excellence pursues a twofold objective: Introduce young people to the treasure trove of classical music and Contribute to academic perseverance.
By using music as a universal language and structuring multidisciplinary training projects, this program allows primary and secondary school students to develop or reinforce skills and competencies that have a beneficial impact on their intellectual, personal, emotional, physical and cultural development.
